Integration

Home > Solutions > Integration of authoring systems into our PLM Suite

The product development process is characterized by the fact that numerous authoring systems are used to generate product-describing information, including mechanical CAD (MCAD), electrical/electronic CAD (ECAD), simulation tools (CAE), Microsoft Office solutions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail) and management systems such as PDM or ALM.

Integration of authoring systems

Against the backdrop of increasing complexity in products and processes, the trend is moving away from monolithic PLM architectures towards distributed systems. An integrating PLM solution must therefore be able to incorporate the data from the individual authoring systems in order to present a holistic picture of all information and processes.

4PEP Connect offers an open interface with which various systems can be connected to 4PEP. Connectors are available for SIEMENS Teamcenter, Dassault Systèmes Enovia V6 or PTC WindChill. Corresponding integration scenarios are already mapped in the 4PEP reference system.

ECTR-Integration

SAP Engineering Control Center (SAP ECTR) is SAP’s strategic integration platform for the direct integration of authoring systems (MCAD, ECAD) and Microsoft Office. SAP ECTR allows engineering data to be stored directly in SAP PLM and linked to the business object data available there. SAP ECTR is an important tool for your digitalization strategy on the way to the digital twin.

With 4PEP Connect ECTR, you can search for, display and edit objects from the 4PEP reference system directly via the ECTR interface. This allows you, for example, to add material masters to a 4PEP change process in the ECTR client using drag & drop or to carry out where-used lists for materials or documents in 4PEP development statuses. This allows you to achieve consistent editing of business processes on SAP objects and objects from the 4PEP reference system.
